Team Israel archer Mikaella Moshe set a new Israeli record on Thursday during her opening competition at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Moshe scored 660 points in the women’s individual ranking round and finished in 18th place, out of 64. She broke the previous national record of 642, which she set in March. South Korea’s Sihyeon Lim finished in first place with a score of 694, which is also a world record.

Moshe will compete next on July 30. This year marks the first time that Israel sent a female archer to the Olympic Games.

In the men’s individual ranking round that also took place on Thursday, Israel’s Roy Dror finished in 42nd place out of 64, scoring 655 points.
